Making Math Meaningful Institute

Looking for ways to transform your mathematics classroom into a dynamic learning environment? The Making Math Meaningful Institute will introduce participants to new pedagogical techniques as well as inquiry-based activities in order to improve math instruction and student success. Through guest speakers, hands-on activities, and collegial collaboration, participants will explore pedagogical approaches that can be universally applied to mathematics instruction, as well as delve into individual strands of mathematics practice.

Program dates and times: August 7-9, 2017, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Location: MSiC Rooms A-1, D-9, D-16, E-15, E-16
Follow-up activities: Nov. 16 from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm
Eligibility: Teachers who will teach Grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-8 Mathematics, Algebra or Geometry in the 2017-2018 school year are eligible to register

Educators from consortium member school divisions are eligible to participate free of charge. 
Full Consortium Member School Divisions: Chesterfield, Colonial Heights, Hanover, Henrico, King William, Petersburg, Powhatan and Richmond City. 

Educators from institutional member school divisions may attend on a space-available basis with an additional fee of $375.00. Institutional Members School Divisions: Charles City, Dinwiddie, Goochland, Hopewell and Prince George. Other educators may attend on a space-available basis with an additional fee of $750.00.

Priority registration date is May 24, 2017. Registration will continue to be accepted until all seats are filled.
